Wizkid has a new agency behind his live shows in North America. The Nigerian superstar has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for live music and touring in the United States and Canada, according to reports published on October 12. The deal covers one territory only. United Talent Agency (UTA) remains his touring agency for the rest of the world, including Europe and Africa. That ends the earlier setup, in which a single agency handled his live work worldwide. Who will handle his shows CAA music agents Zack Borson and Joseph Harris will lead the relationship. HOT 96.9 Boston, citing a Turntable Charts report, says they will plan his North American tours and book his shows, including festival dates. Nothing else in his team is changing. All three reports agree on the rest of the setup: Wizkid's team after the deal Starboy Entertainment: management Storm Management: modelling FYI Brand Group: publicity UTA: touring outside North America CAA: live music and touring in the US and Canada Why North America matters HypeTribe says the timing makes sense. North America has become one of the most important markets for live Afrobeats, and Wizkid has been central to that growth, selling out major venues across the US and Canada. Bringing in CAA gives his team another strong set of relationships with promoters, venues and festival bookers. BookingAgentInfo calls the split "territory-specific", a growing strategy among top international artists. A single global agency once ran an entire world tour, it notes, but North America is a separate, high-grossing market that needs focused promoter relationships. "African artists are no longer booking mid-size theaters," it writes. "They are selling out NBA arenas and football stadiums." A roster with Asake and Adele HOT 96.9 says the signing adds Wizkid to a CAA music roster that includes 21 Savage, Adele, Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande and his fellow Nigerian star Asake . The two artists also share one of this year's big songs, as covered in our report on "Jogodo" . A record of big stages The reports recall the career that brought him here. Wizkid began his mainstream career at Empire Mates Entertainment before launching Starboy and signing a worldwide label deal with RCA Records, BookingAgentInfo says. He was the first African artist to headline London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He has also headlined the O2 Arena in London and is one of the few African acts to sell out New York's Madison Square Garden. After the release of his sixth studio album, Morayo , he kept up his live momentum through 2025 and 2026. BookingAgentInfo notes that he directed his own visuals for "Kese (Dance)" and headlined events including Tribeville Fest and AfroPlus Fest. No dates yet HypeTribe stresses that no tour dates have been announced under the new arrangement. A deal like this usually points to serious touring plans for North America, but fans will have to wait for specifics. The outlet also places the move within a wider trend: Afrobeats acts restructuring their business teams as their global audiences grow. For Wizkid, it means separate specialists for his biggest overseas market and for everywhere else. Questions the deal raises BookingAgentInfo asks what the signing could mean in practice. Could CAA help Wizkid land main-stage headline slots at major US festivals such as Coachella or Lollapalooza? Does splitting regional rights between two big agencies give global artists more bargaining power with promoters? And what scale of production might his next arena run across the US and Canada bring? HOT 96.9 notes that UTA has backed his tours in Europe, Africa and other key markets, and will keep the international side of his schedule. Under the new setup, North America becomes its own live market. What's next Watch for North American dates from CAA, which would be the first sign of how the new setup works.
