She is only the second act to spend at least 100 weeks atop the chart. The other is The Beatles, who have 132. The numbers this week On the chart dated October 17, The Life of a Showgirl earned 93,000 equivalent album units in the US in the week ending October 8, according to Luminate. That is down 46% from the week before. The album jumped back to No. 1 a week earlier, climbing from No. 21 after a deluxe reissue on September 25 with four previously unreleased songs. We covered that comeback in our report on the reissue's return to No. 1 . One of the new tracks, "Patient Zero", has also performed strongly on the Hot 100, as covered in our Hot 100 story . Swift's record in context The 100 weeks come across Swift's 15 No. 1 albums. That ties her with Drake for the most No. 1 albums by a soloist. Among all acts, only The Beatles have more, with 19. Her lead among solo artists for weeks at No. 1 is large. Billboard reports that Elvis Presley has the second-most weeks at No. 1 among soloists, with 67. The Beatles were last at No. 1 with their greatest hits set 1 , which spent its eighth and final week on top on the chart dated February 3, 2001. Drake and The Beatles join her in the top five This week's chart has an unusual top five. Drake's album soars from No. 116 to No. 2, returning to its peak, after it was reissued on October 2 with four extra songs. The expanded edition adds "Solar Eclipse" (with Don Toliver), "Quebec", "Cold Shoulder" (with Toliver and Yebba) and "Classic PT2". It earned 71,000 units, up 506%. We covered "Solar Eclipse" in our Hot 100 report . A Beatles album re-enters at No. 4 after an expansive reissue, also on October 2. It had been absent from the chart for more than a decade. It earned 58,000 units, 50,000 of them from album sales, the band's best week by units and pure sales in seven years. Billboard notes that this is the first time Swift, Drake and The Beatles have shared the top five, or even the top 10, in the same week. The three acts have the most No. 1 albums of anyone. Elsewhere in the top five, Morgan Wallen falls from No. 4 to No. 5 with 55,000 units. Why it matters Weeks at No. 1 are one of the clearest measures of sustained popularity on the Billboard 200. Swift's total reflects a career with several albums that stayed on top for long stretches. The Life of a Showgirl has now added 14 of them. Its reissue shows how deluxe editions can send an album back to the top months after release. More reissues in the top 10 Reissues shaped much of this week's chart. A 10th-anniversary reissue with three additional tracks climbed from No. 159 to No. 10, earning 32,000 units, 18,000 of them in sales. The album had debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the chart dated October 8, 2016. The Beatles' returning album, which topped the chart for six weeks in 1966 and includes "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)", "Michelle" and "In My Life", had last been in the top 10 in April 1966. Its No. 4 placing is the band's highest rank since November 2022. Billboard's chart counts equivalent album units. One unit equals one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid on-demand streams. What's next The full Billboard 200 chart dated October 17 will be posted on Billboard's website on October 13. Next week will show whether The Life of a Showgirl can hold off Drake's surging reissue and add a 15th week at No. 1, and a 101st for Swift. Sources: Billboard (100 weeks) | Billboard (chart report)
