Stonebwoy to Headline 2026 Hogbetsotso Concert in Anloga

Article

Ghanaian dancehall and reggae star Stonebwoy will headline a concert at this year's Hogbetsotso Festival in the Volta Region. Announcing the show on Facebook, the Burniton Music Group CEO invited fans to Lalana Beach, Anloga, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, according to Rymciti GH. The concert follows his performance at the same venue last year, which drew a huge crowd. A homecoming show Rymciti describes the event as Stonebwoy performing in his home region. Headlining a show tied to a traditional festival gives it extra meaning beyond a typical concert, and last year's turnout suggests the beach venue will again be packed. The return booking also points to a strong relationship between the artist and the festival. Concerts linked to traditional festivals have become a way of drawing younger audiences to cultural celebrations, mixing heritage with contemporary music. Hogbetsotso Za 2026 The Ghana News Agency reports that the chiefs and people of Anlo have launched the media campaign for Hogbetsotso Za 2026. The festival will culminate in a grand durbar on Saturday, November 7, at the Awoamefia Sri III Astro Turf Park in Anloga, the same day as Stonebwoy's concert. This year's theme is "Anlo, Our Heritage and Our Values; Striving to Build One Ghana for Better Tomorrow", according to GNA. The theme links the celebration of Anlo traditions with a message of national unity. Holding the durbar and the concert on the same day turns November 7 into the centrepiece of the festival, with traditional ceremony during the day and a major music event at Lalana Beach. Why the concert matters For the festival, booking one of Ghana's biggest stars gives the cultural programme a major entertainment draw. For Stonebwoy, it is a chance to perform for a home-region crowd during one of the most important events in the Volta calendar. Ghana's live scene is busiest in the final months of the year, as artists play festival dates, homecoming concerts and December shows. A headline show at a regional festival highlights how big events are spreading beyond Accra and Kumasi, bringing entertainment and visitors to towns like Anloga. Stonebwoy's busy season The Hogbetsotso concert caps a busy period for Stonebwoy, who has been part of the conversation around Ghana's major end-of-year shows. Entzopedia has covered his recent moments with Shatta Wale, including their appearance at ShattaFest in Ho , also in the Volta Region. Music meets heritage The pairing of a festival durbar with a beach concert reflects a wider trend in Ghana, where traditional festivals increasingly include contemporary music events. That mix helps attract younger people and visitors from outside the region, while the durbar keeps the cultural core of the celebration at the centre.
