Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale is bringing ShattaFest to the capital. ShattaFest Accra 2026 will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 17, from 4pm until late, and the announcement has already drawn warm words from his long-time rival Stonebwoy and an unexpected peace offer from rapper Kwaw Kese. The official flyer was released on Friday, October 9. It sets an all-white dress code for the night, and lists P Mobile and Hotwav as presenting partners. Stonebwoy sends his congratulations Stonebwoy congratulated Shatta Wale on social media after the flyer went out, according to reports compiled by Ghanamma from GhanaWeb, Pulse Ghana and other outlets. He described the event as good for Ghanaian music and said such shows help promote the country's culture to the world. "We need to support each other to grow Ghana music. I wish Shatta Wale a successful event," Stonebwoy was quoted as saying by Hitz FM. The message stood out because the two dancehall stars have one of the best-known rivalries in Ghanaian music, though their relationship has warmed in recent years. Rapper Kwaw Kese, known for the hit "Awoyo Sofo", told Pulse Ghana on October 12 that he no longer wants a musical feud with Shatta Wale and would rather "tap into his blessings". Describing the dancehall star as his "school son", Kwaw Kese acknowledged that Shatta Wale had surpassed him financially and said he would prefer a positive relationship. He appealed to the Shatta Movement, the singer's fan base, to stream his music and attend his shows. He also said he was ready to perform at ShattaFest Accra if Shatta Wale agrees to put him on the bill. Shatta Wale has not publicly responded to the offer. How to get in According to reports cited by Ghanamma, fans can get tickets by gifting Shatta Wale on the Shaxi app, a twist on traditional ticketing that ties the concert to the platform. He rose to fame in the 2010s with hits such as "Dancehall King" and gained global attention when he featured on Beyoncé's 2019 The Lion King: The Gift album with the song "Already". Unity in Ghanaian music Fans praised Stonebwoy for his message, with many saying unity is needed in the Ghanaian music industry. With Kwaw Kese also calling a truce, the build-up to ShattaFest Accra has turned into a rare moment of goodwill across the scene.
