Shania Twain has expanded her most personal album. Little Miss Twain – The Places I'll Go , the deluxe edition of her seventh studio album, came out on October 9 with six extra songs, bringing the total to 21 tracks. Three of the additions are brand-new and three were previously available only as retail exclusives, BroadwayWorld reports. The new focus track is "Who Do You Love", featuring folk duo The Milk Carton Kids. "Looking back at the girl I was" Twain explained the release in an Instagram message quoted by Holler. "If you wanna get to know herrrr... Listen to Little Miss Twain – The Places I'll Go!! 21 songs later and I think you probably know me pretty well by now," she wrote. "It's been so much fun looking back at the girl I was before Nashville and remembering just how determined she was to get somewhere even if she had absolutely no idea where 'somewhere' was going to be." She thanked listeners too: "To everyone who has listened, shared your own stories with me or found a little piece of yourself somewhere in these songs, thank you." The new songs The six additions are "Who Do You Love", "What's Going On In There", "Trippin' On Good Luck", "We Just Met", "Hate That Way" and "The Places I'll Go". In an earlier post, Holler says, Twain called "Trippin' On Good Luck" "a fun play on words tune that's all about positive change". She described "Who Do You Love" as "a song reflecting on first loves and crushes from my youth back home in Timmins, Ontario." The original album Little Miss Twain came out in July. BroadwayWorld says it draws on her childhood and teenage years in Canada, tracing the roots of her sound across country, pop, rock, soul and bluegrass. Collaborators include Tanya Tucker, T Bone Burnett, Ronnie Wood, Josh Homme, Ray Parker Jr. and Toto's David Paich. The War and Treaty appear on "Take It To The River". Holler argues that rather than making a commercial, radio-friendly record, Twain took a creative risk, exploring Southern rock, alt-country, bluegrass and gospel.
