Ella Langley cancelled her sold-out Tulsa show two hours before it began after a threat. Police found nothing credible, but she says she would do it again.

Country star Ella Langley says she would make the same call "10 billion times over" after cancelling her sold-out concert at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, because of a security threat. The show was called off on Friday, October 9, about two hours before it was due to start at the 19,000-seat arena, the BBC reports. Langley said the threat involved "the safety of my fans, the venue staff and my team". What police said Captain Richard Meulenberg of the Tulsa Police Department told the BBC that a caller had said "great harm" would be done at the event, with "shots fired and bombs". He said officers had checked the venue several times before the show and "could not find any threat". After the call, officers with sniffer dogs swept the arena again. "The event was ready to go," he said. "We could not find a credible threat." He added that the person who made the call had "disrupted this entire event" for thousands of fans. KOCO reports that a second sweep followed a second call threatening the lives of concertgoers, and that again no credible threat was found. The venue's statement The BOK Center said: "The safety and wellbeing of everyone involved is our absolute priority, and after careful consideration, we have determined that the show cannot proceed. We understand the disappointment this news brings and apologise to fans who planned to attend." Langley's apology The 27-year-old described the decision as "incredibly difficult" in an Instagram post. "I know how much time, travel, money, and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can't tell you how sorry I am. This is not a decision that was made lightly," she wrote, according to KOCO. She did not give further details about the threat, the BBC says, but promised that information on refunds would be shared as soon as possible. "It's not the most important thing in this life" Langley addressed the cancellation the next night on stage in Lubbock, Texas, on her Dandelion Tour. In video shared online, she told the crowd: "When it comes to keeping you safe and making sure that this show is a safe place for us to come and enjoy our music, then it will happen. But the second it feels like it will not, I'm not doing it." "I would have made yesterday's decision 10 billion times over — and I'd do it tomorrow, and I'd do it the next day — because, while I'm grateful to get to do what I do, it's not the most important thing in this life," she said. "What's the most important thing in this life is the people around that love you and are there for you no matter what," she continued, according to KOCO. That success helped the Alabama-born singer sweep the Academy of Country Music Awards in May. KOCO notes that Langley is best known for "Choosin' Texas", and that she spoke about the Tulsa decision at her very next show. More US entertainment news is on Entzopedia.
